  Guided Tour Gijon, Spain

We were very intrigued and Reder did not let us down...

The performance turned out to be very different from what I expected at first...thought he was going to charm us with a tour full of sarcasm, a parody of the standard guided tour, but though it started like this, it developed into something very different...a biting criticism of tours developed into reflections about heritage and memory

As we proceeded he invited us into a process of cultural introspection; should we give a true reading of our historical-artistic   patrimony, or should we discard what suits us least in the present? We are able to re-live sensations and emotions through things as simple as a cup of chocolate , but architectural spaces,   villages, neighbourhoods leave us feeling indifferent because the artifical re-creation to which they are submitted cause them to lose their personal character, that which made them memorable for their history.

For 90 minutes Reder asked the audience many questions with the aim of elaborating his own answer. An intelligent piece of scenography which made it clear that the author had studied the history of the Laboral in depth. Definitely a completely successful show.
